House #2

We looked at another house today. Here is the link for the listing: http://www.century21dickinson.com/details.cfm?ID=2669 The architecture of the house was very unique, the site was gorgeous, very private 8 acres off of a dirt road 25 miles from town. A wraparound deck and deeded access to a lake. Unfortunately the house was unfinished on the inside (there was only a partial kitchen) and what was finished was not finished very well. The drywall wasn't sanded well in many places, the trim was put on haphazardly and the basement, while having three bedrooms, was not laid out very well. The bedrooms were small and did not have closets. It was a neat house but it would need a lot of work, I mean a lot of work for a house that was only 5 years old so we are very unsure about it. We did go to the bank to get that process rolling in case we do find something we like but we are in no rush and want to find something we are both happy with that is in our price range, oh and we found out the government gets to help pick out our house!!! Because we will be going with a VA loan an approved VA home inspector has to approve the home and determine whether or not they could resell it if we defaulted. Interesting challenge in this home search so I guess this story is to be continued....
