Spring has Sprung!!

We are always cautiously hopeful this time of year. We have had a week of very mild temperatures and a lot of melting. It's been fantastic to see the mounds of snow slowly be defeated by the warmer rays of the sun. Our driveway is almost completely snow free and little patches of grass are showing up on hillsides. However, we know from past experience that snowstorms can blow in at any time....even into late April so we are taking each day of sunshine with wary anticipation that at any time we could be back into our warm winter jackets, hats and gloves.
Andrew and the girls went to a Daddy-Daughter dance last weekend. The Bemidji Parks and Rec put on a nice little shindig. They had a buffet dinner and a DJ playing music. The girls loved getting dressed up and going to real dance.
Today was a beautiful day!! The temperature was at least 45 degrees today and full of sunshine. Eliana got to try out her new roller blades and Mimi took her Bear for a stroll in his stroller. I just sat on the deck absorbing every last bit of sunshine...it felt great to be outside again. It's this time of year Andrew and I always have conversations about relocating. Winters are hard and I think they are especially hard on us because we don't have any winter interests. We don't snowmobile, ice fish, hunt, ski, or snow shoe. Granted we could take up skiing or something else but I don't know if living here in the north land is really what we want. Unfortunately, once summer rolls around we experience temporary amnesia...induced by the mild temperatures and the beautiful wooded scenery and abundant lakes. We talk about even southern MN, Wisconsin or even Illinois but we will see.
Andrew is moving Right along in his training schedule. Today he ran 16 miles on the treadmill..the farthest he has ever run. This week he will start to train outside in preparation for the marathon in June!! He's getting nervous and excited and we have our observation plan in place!! My Mom and the girls will cheer him on at Greg and Joe's house and I will hang out at finish line in canal park. Can't wait...it will be so exciting!!

I am not the least bit jealous of your snow. You can keep it. We have had some 50 and 60 days. Of course, then it snows again, but Spring really is coming.
