Poor Ellie came home from daycare on Thursday with red swollen eyes and red itchy hives all over her upper body. We gave her Benedryl and used Hydro cortisone cream to relieve the itch and she went into the walk in clinic on Friday. The doctor was pretty certain it's an allergy..but to what we don't know. Two days later she's still itchy and red though her eyes look better after some Zyrtec. Poor girl. I think we may have to go back in if they don't go away. She had one other allergic reaction to red food dye before (we think) but this looks different. This is what Ellie thinks of red itchy bumps!!

The garden preparation continues. The plants Andrew started inside are growing like weeds..or well tomato plants, watermelon plants and cucumber plants respectively. They will soon be planted permanently outside and will hopefully do well after all of the work Andrew has put into them.

Speaking of Andrew, here he is looking proudly over all that he has accomplished with his garden so far. Just today he and Ellie visited a farmer and purchased a couple truck loads of compost (cow poop) to fertilize the garden. He has fenced it in nicely with store bought posts (he was creative last summer and used some large branches he found in the woods but I reminded him we would like to sell this place in the near future). He also built a twine trellis frame for the veggies that need to climb and some irrigation hose to water it this summer. I think the garden is all ready!! Can't wait to see it come together.
