July kicks off the berry picking season up here. We always head up to the Mistic Berry Farm to pick ripe juicy strawberries. This year we also stayed to have some lunch in their little seasonal cafe.
The best part of the experience for the girls is getting a ride on the tractor trailer out to the patch.
Ellie was a hard worker this year. In previous years she will pick a few berries and then get bored and explore the rest of the patch the field next to it. This year she filled a bucket almost 2/3 full by herself. Meirah, on the other hand, was more interested in being done so she could get another ride on the tractor and then play on the playground. She was though, quite willing to eat the strawberries!
Our feezer is filled with four large bags of homegown strawberries (we had to sample some of course!) to use throughout the rest of the winter!
