Clipping Along

Things are rolling along as we get into our new routine. There have been a few snafu's as I forgot to bring Mimi's ballet shoes (actually I brought shoes, just the ones that were 1 1/2 sizes too small) to dance class and I sent Eliana to school one day with two left shoes in her book bag to change into for gym class. Ellie had a little trouble adjusting to the expectations of skating class (she apparently thought it was going to be free skate every time!!) and Mimi had a potty accident at preschool. On top of that our car broke down but that turned out to be an easy fix and now we have figured out what it will take to get us all out the door (with the correct shoes on) and where we need to be. Andrew and I met with Eliana's teacher and developed a 504 plan for her to address her ADHD symptomology. We just wanted her teacher to be aware of her attentional issues and talked with her about what her teacher did last year that seemed to work.
Mimi was happy to be back in dance class and was proud to be one of the older kids. She asks all week when dance class is and the day of she literally dances with anticipation.
We went on a covered wagon ride this past Sunday up to the continental divide at the Beuna Vista Ski resort to take the fall colors (there was some) but to also enjoy these last few nice days as summer is winding down. At the top of the divide are two lakes: Lake Julia, whose waters flow north and Larsen Lake, whose waters flow south. Eliana invited her best friend, Greta, from Kindergarten and they were so happy to spend time together!Eliana and Greta
Our horse King At the top of the hill
The girls went all Laura Ingalls and ran down the hill.

Each of the girls also got a little ride around on a riding horse while we waited for our wagon. This was a highlight of the day!! Next up: picking out costumes for the Fall Party at church!!
