On the Fourth

We went to Duluth to celebrate with my family. On Friday we visited Greg/Joe/Nat/Di and had a BBQ and a HUGE bonfire at their house on Scenic 61. We visited a great Lake Superior beach near their house and I was able to take a few pictures before my batteries died (note to self: bring extra batteries in camera case). On Saturday we went to my Grandma and Grandpa's house to celebrate, just like we have been doing since I was a kid. It's the one holiday we can all get together and not have to rush off to another house. We eat (a lot), visit, fish, and have a bonfire before we watch the very NOT Minnesota legal fire works that my cousin gets from South Dakota every year. I'm not sure why they are legal there and not here...maybe it's because South Dakota doesn't have any trees. Anyway they are great and we really enjoy the display! Grandpa caught a picture of Mimi's first fish on his IPhone.
Playing games. Great Grandma Jean is always on the look out for new toys for the kids. She practically has a playground in her backyard now, which is really not fair because when we were kids we just had to play with sticks and things. Great Grandpa overseeing the grilling. Andrew enjoying himself. The kids cooled off in the pool... and went for a boat ride with Grandpa. Wishful thinking.
Andrew is always a big hit with the kids!!
Gram and Gramps. Enjoying a S'More and a fire before the fireworks.

To top the weekend off we took all of the kids to see Ice Age Three in 3D on Sunday. The girls were exhausted by time we got home but it was a fun filled weekend.
