Last day of preschool
It's hard to believe that a whole school year has come and gone. Eliana passed first grade with flying colors...her teacher was very proud of how far she came this year in reading. She started the year reading at a .7 grade level and finished with a 1.7. She earned 160 AR points and read over 350 books!! Her teacher did refer her to a summer learning program to assist her with her math in preparation for 2nd grade. For six weeks she will spend mornings working on math and reading but in the afternoons she will get to swim everyday, use the computer labs, gym or play outside with her classmates. After summer school is over she will get to spend time at a friends house during the week (along with Mimi) and then spend a few weeks at home when Andrew and I each take a week or more off.
We celebrated the last day of preschool with a party. The owner of the preschool holds and annual Luau at her house and so we all went there last Wednesday to enjoy the end of the year wrap up festivities and to let Mimi say good bye to all of her new friends. She was very pleased with the fact that she was no longer a preschooler and will be going to the "big girl" school next year just like Ellie does.
Mimi all dressed up for the Luau!
Getting ready for the yummy food!
Andrew and I had to participate in the hula hoop contest...notice there are no pictures of me, Ha Ha!!
